Ripple privacy policy

Ripple does not require an OtterSuite account and has no OtterSuite-operated analytics or listening-history server. Most information stays on your device.

Information kept on your device

  • Followed shows and cached podcast or episode metadata
  • Playback history, completion status, listening position, and Up Next queue
  • Downloaded audio and download records
  • Playback, theme, download, and per-show preferences
  • A locally cached indication that Ripple Pro is active

Podcast discovery and content

Ripple sends podcast search terms to Apple’s public Search service and uses Apple’s public chart and lookup services for discovery. Apple receives standard network information such as your IP address.

RSS feeds, artwork, chapters, streams, and downloads come directly from podcast publishers and their hosting or content-delivery providers. Those providers receive the resource requested and standard network information. Publisher links may include measurement or redirect services selected by the publisher.

Billing and Cast

Google Play processes Ripple Pro purchases. Ripple receives product and entitlement status but not your full payment-card details.

If you choose Cast, Ripple discovers compatible receivers on your local network and sends the selected episode’s media URL and playback metadata to the receiver.

Permissions, retention, and choices

Local data remains until removed or the app is uninstalled. Android may back up some data according to your device and account settings. Third parties retain request data under their own policies.

  • Internet access retrieves discovery data and creator-hosted content.
  • Notifications, foreground playback, and wake lock support background listening.
  • Local-network access is used for Cast; audio-settings access supports volume boost.
  • You can remove downloads, unfollow shows, clear app data, decline local-network access, or uninstall Ripple.

Independent services

These services handle information under their own terms and policies. OtterSuite does not control their retention or security practices.

Sale, security, and changes

OtterSuite does not sell personal information collected through Ripple. Network traffic uses encrypted connections where the feature supports them, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. This policy may change as the app changes; the effective date will be updated when a revision is published.

Contact

For privacy questions, use the developer contact on the app’s Google Play listing or the support channel published by OtterSuite with the app.
